Prohibitions

Given that the visit is a protected natural setting with high and narrow paths, especially its boardwalks and in order to preserve the natural values of the area and prevent endangering visitors the following general prohibitions must be observed:

  • to pick anyone up in one’s arms at any point along the boardwalks whatever age they might have.
  • To use inappropriate hiking shoes. The use of sandals , high heels or any other shoes that are not suitable for this activity is strictly forbidden as they can generate ankle injury or falls, and bring inappropriate clothing to the season in which the tour is made, and in particular that which limits the route in an important way.
  • To use a harness or to be tied to a cable on the boardwalks, as this might put obstacles in the way of other people who transit it and can make them fall down the precipice.
  • To carry backpacks, bags or any other big object,as this might put obstacles in the way of other people who transit it and can make them fall down the precipice.
  • To use canes, crutches, wheelchairs, baby carriage or similar, as this might put obstacles in the way of other people who transit it and can make them fall down the precipice.The use of 'selfie sticks' is also forbidden, as they posed an obstacle in the pathway for visitors
  • Improper use of security equipment that is given at the access points to the boardwalks.
  • Using an umbrella when it rains. Raincoats or similar are compulsory in this case.
  • Litter dropping.
  • Setting things on fire
  • Smoking (Any type of substance)
  • Consuming alcohol or having any kind of food which is not mentioned in the above suggestions.
  • Taking photos or videos with a tripod or using cameras and equipment that can block other visitors’ way without explicit premission from management.
  • As this Natural Beauty Spot is an important bird sanctuary it is absolutely forbidden to use drones or similar machines, except when authorized by the correspondent environmental consultancy.
  • Visiting with animals, since the use of a harness for its fastening is mandatory and this might put obstacles in the way of other people who transit it and can make them fall down the precipice.
  • Swimming in the river or in its ponds.
  • Entering the canals' tunnels, unless they are enabled.
  • Leaving the authorised path at El Valle del Hoyo in any direction (risking landslides).
  • Pulling up plants or its parts.
  • Shouting or listening to loud music.
  • Undressing, taking off your shoes or lying down.
  • Damagig rocks or other geological elements such as fossils.
  • Painting or writing on both artificial and natural elements.
  • Scattering people's ashes.
  • Bringing a pram / baby carriage, pushchairs, strollers or similar, or with any accessory that could hinder a possible evacuation.
  • Accessing the area with children younger than 8.
  • Reselling tickets, booking receipts or its forgeries.
  • Accessing or staying within the premises on the days and times of its closure.
All visitors to the path have to follow these regulations, as well as those rules brought by the personnel due to some unexpected or unforeseen circumstances.
