El Caminito del Rey Website accessed by 6 million users in three years

One third of the users have been foreigners, above all, from Germaany, the UK, the USA, and France.

El Caminito del Rey website has been accessed by 6 million users in the first three years since it was opened, which is round 6000 visits a day. Round 68% of the users are Spanish and almost a third are from different countries. This data shows how large is the interest aroused in the whole world by this trail placed at a beauty spot which has been seen by a million of people until now.

The company Turismo y Planificación Costa del Sol or Costa del Sol Tourism and Planning, which is depends on the County Council of Maálaga and which has developed the site, has made a report which gathers data about the origin of the users, and the most visited pages.  The website is available in four languages: Spanish, English, French and German.

The study shows that there have been 3.6 million different users, and 2.5 of them from Spain. Next on the list are 143,900 people from Germany; 138,599 from the UK; 120,155 from the USA; 99,464 from France; and 79,077 from Holand.

As for their profile, most of the users are young people as the 65% of them are between 18 and 44 years old, and round 20% between 45 and 54.  Moreover, there is a slight difference between men and women, as 53.1% are men users and 46.9% women.

Moreover, more than 21 million pages have been visited, and the traffic has been equal throughout the year, although there were more users in April and March.

The most visited pages have been the home page, and those related to how to prepare the visit, as well as the frequent questions, and the gallery with photos.
Almost 70% of inquires have been made form mobile phones or tablets and the 30% from computers.

As for the ways to access the web, the 64% of users accessed the website through the browsers, and the 22% directly at the web page address. The rest of users accessed the page through the links on other websites (10%) and through social networks (3%).
